Q&A

Here are some commonly asked questions and answers about the Center for Community-Based Research:

Q: Where does your funding come from?
A: Funding for our studies comes from the National Cancer Institute and other institutes of the National Institutes of Health, foundations like the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and private funders. Please check our funders page for a comprehensive listing of funders and donors.
Q. How long do studies last? How many people take part in an average study?
A: It depends on the study and the study design. CCBR conducts randomized control studies, methods development studies, and observational studies, among others. Some studies last several months, while others may go on for four or more years. The number of people is also largely dependent on the study itself and the study design. Some studies have over 2000 participants; others may only have several dozen. For specific information about individual studies, please visit our projects page.
Q: Where are you located?
A:

The Center for Community-Based Research is located in the Smith Building, adjacent to the Dana building on the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute campus in Boston, Massachusetts.
